Great Britain proudly announce that Himalayan Whitewater
Challenge 2007 in Nepal.
We are
introducing of river running event that has the potential to
stimulate interest in Nepal as a tourist destination in general
and Nepal's rivers in particular as one of the world's premier
river running tourism destinations. The event is a multi
discipline one boat Event that combines extreme slalom / river
running skills with down river speed and freestyle action to
find an overall white water champion. This event, which will
combine state of the art forms of extreme whitewater slalom,
head to head down river racing and amazing displays of freestyle
rodeo manoeuvres into one world-class competitive event.
We are expecting
200 paddlers participant in this event from around the world so
that this event definitely promotes the Nepal tourism industry
and also highlight to "Destination Nepal Campaign" program.
As this is an opportunity for tourism's benefits to reach local
participants directly, this event will help to contribute to
both the Government of Nepal's and the Nepal Tourism Board's
efforts at helping to expand and spread the benefits of tourism
around to those oftentimes neglected by this form of economic
development. As such this is a valuable opportunity for tourism
to help local people as well as spotlight the country of Nepal
in the international tourism arena.
